Web & Desktop Products

Throughout my time at Ansys/Synopsys, I had the chance to work on a variety of desktop and web products, but the majority of my impact came from my work on Ansys Discovery — a project that shaped much of my career and is described in more detail on its own page. Alongside Discovery, I also contributed to an internal web application built on our web UI framework, which gave me an early look at how teams across the company were beginning to adopt the tools and systems we were creating.

As more teams started building web applications, it became clear that even with strong UI frameworks in place, there were still opportunities to make development faster and more accessible. Many teams needed to build forms — lots of them — and the process was often repetitive, time‑consuming, and required deep knowledge of the underlying components. That sparked an idea: what if we could automatically generate forms using the official web UI framework, based entirely on JSON files that described the layout and properties?

The concept was simple but powerful. Product teams would provide a JSON file, and a custom web component would take care of the rest — no need to understand the intricacies of every UI control or pattern. After sharing early prototypes and discussing the idea with stakeholders, we received approval to build it out.

While other members of my team focused on the internal engine that powered the form generation, my role centered on shaping the experience around it. I managed our feature backlog, designed the internal documentation site (built using our own UI framework), and created examples that illustrated the most common and important use cases. Once the initial version of the site was complete, I shifted into development work to help accelerate the release of new features.

By the time my tenure at Ansys/Synopsys came to a close, we had identified several enthusiastic stakeholders who were ready to integrate the package into new web products. The early feedback was incredibly positive — it was clear we were on the path to creating a solution that could meaningfully speed up development and reduce friction for teams across the company.

Below are screenshots of the mockups I created, along with the implemented website.
